যে কোনও গ্রন্থের বিষয়বৈচিত্র্যের কাল্পনিক বাঁধন বাস্তব জীবনভিত্তিক। এটাই স্বাভাবিক। কোনও লেখকের মনে বাস্তব জীবনের কোনও ঘটনাক্রম দাগ কেটে গেলে, সেটা তার মনের ভিতর জারিত হয়ে লেখকের মধ্যে সৃজনশীল সত্তার বোধন ঘটায়। লেখক তখন সেটাকে একটা কাল্পনিক পটভূমি অঙ্কন করে রূপায়ণ করে। এই গ্রন্থ সেই অর্থে ব্যাতিক্রম কিছু নয়। এর বিষয় তথ্য বাস্তব জীবন থেকে সংগৃহীত হলেও সেসব নিখুঁত ভাবে বাস্তব জীবনের সঙ্গে যে কোনও রকম সম্পর্ক ছিন্ন করা হয়েছে। তার পরেও যদি এর কোনও ঘটনাক্রম কারও জীবনের সঙ্গে মিলে যায়, তাহলে সেটা একেবারেই কাকতালীয়।
যিনি সচেতনভাবে গ্রন্থের বিষয়বস্তুকে বিশ্বাসযোগ্য মনে করে যত্ন সহকারে পড়তে চান, তাঁর প্রতি নিবেদন:--

যদি চান তো আগে নিশ্চিত হোন যে, আপনি ছাপানো গ্রন্থটি পড়ছেন। পুনর্বার পাঠ করে ঘটনাক্রমের মধ্যে সম্পর্ক পেতে চাইছেন। অথবা কম্পিউটারে ইলেকট্রনিক ভার্সনে চোখ রেখে তথ্যের তালিকায় মনোনিবেশ না করে শুধু ইটালাইজড হেলানো অক্ষরে লেখার সারবত্তাটুকু আহরণ করতে চাইছেন।
একটি সামাজিক যোগাযোগ ব্যবস্থাকে কল্পনা করে নিন। যেখানে মানুষেরা হল সাংকেতিক কোড। কোডগুলোর লিঙ্ক হচ্ছে তাদের পারস্পরিক পরিচিতি, সম্পর্ক। তাহলে সহজেই মানুষেরা একটা সম ভাবনা, সমচিন্তনে অভ্যস্ত একটা সমাজ গড়ে তুলতে পারবে। একটা ছোট্ট সমাজ, যেখানে সবাই সবাইকে চেনে, তাদের মধ্যে কারও কারও আবার বাইরের কোনও সমাজের লোকেদের সম্পর্ক রয়েছে। কিছু মানুষ আবার নেতামন্ত্রী, অভিনেতাদের সঙ্গে সুপরিচিত, যারা অসংখ্য মানুষের সঙ্গে সম্পর্কযুক্ত। সে মানুষগুলো আবার এই ছোট্ট পৃথিবীর বিশেষ কোনও ঘটনার কেন্দ্রীয় চরিত্রে রয়েছেন।
